My Power

Good consistent AMPS at low wind speeds

Its been quite both struggle and a long learning curve, but I am really pleased to announce that this afternoon we achieved a constant 5-10 AMPS (250-500 Watts) from my FD 1KW Wind Turbine this afternoon in relatively low wind speeds.

Two things where changed, the first is we replaced the 2.5mm cable with a 10mm cable to reduce resistance between the cable and the turbine and the second is that Ivan from Wind Watts (local turbine producers) stopped by and checked out the slip rings and brushes and found that they were intermittently dropping the power connection. He very kindly disassembled the turbine and corrected the problem! BIG THANKS IVAN!

The result have been VERY POSITIVE, consistent useable power being delivered from my turbine in low wind speeds. Me thinks this could be the start of a very good friendship between, myself, my turbine and the green power it delivers to my family and I.
