I love to spread the environmental message in an optimistic way. But this does not mean that I hide the facts, even if those facts hurt. Being truthful to yourself and others is always the best way to go. Most times the painful truth can be delivered in a sensitive way; this is good for the person receiving the truth and the person stating it. But there are times when this is not possible. So you have to be more direct.
Speaking the truth can also be dangerous. Martin Luther King realised this when he spoke about bringing home the American troops from Vietnam and got masses of death threats for his trouble. But he made the statement anyway. The truth needs to get out.
This is why I have just uploaded the video ‘This Little Piggy.’ I thought about it for a while, wondering about people’s sensitivities, then I came to the conclusion that these events need to be seen, so people can make the right choices in their life. I am not saying what those choices are, I’m leaving that up to the viewer to figure out.
Now that I have uploaded the video I feel good; good that I have already made my lifestyle choice and good that even in the midst of heartbreak hope can be found.
