My name is Sherise Hernandez, and I am a native of the beautiful twin island of Trinidad and Tobago. I currently attend the University of the District of Columbia, where I am pursuing my bachelors degree in Business Management. I am a very fun, outgoing person that loves everything about nature. I love the look, the feel, and even the smell. One can definitely say that I am a "Nature Lover." Growing up in the islands added to my nature loving mentality, because I was always outdoors,going to the beach or taking camping trips with the family. The beach was something we more did every weekend, sometimes even staying for the entire weekend in a beach house. Now that I live in the U.S. I would love to go on a ski trip, spending the weekend in a cabin and everything; however, I am yet to do so. Anyway, it was nice sharing with you readers a little bit about myself. Hoped you enjoyed it as much as I did typing it (lol). Adios!!!

My Poem

Earth

We are living in a world of peculiar traits,
Roaming the land of our ancestors,
The wave which drives mankind's existence
Seems to corresponds with the earth's atmosphere.
Humans, animals, and plants alike,
Occupy this land of their inheritance collectively;
The soil of this land is rich in vitamins and minerals,
H2O being one of them,
Helps restore energy to all living creatures,
Enabling them to walk, run, or roam on earth
In search of greener pastures for survival,
We tend to flock in… Continue

The images portrayed in the video below shows the drastic changes that is being done to our Earth on a daily basis. In the first part of the video we see a place filled with natural beauty which we had once known. These images appeared timeless; there were huge glaciers, the forest were green and beautiful, the waters were clean and blue, and the air was clean and fresh. Then we saw our Earth being destroyed by use of our daily consumption. We witness our once huge glaciers melting, our beautiful green forests being cut down and burnt, our clean blue waters being polluted by waste, and our fresh air that we once breathe is being filled with toxic waste due to all these activities. The question is, "Are we doing our best to stop destroying our Earth's beauty?" Well, as study shows we as human still consume a large number of natural resouces, more than what the actual Earth can produce. If we want to re-gain our Earth's natural beauty and save mother Earth, as well as ourselves, and our wildlife, let us start by consuming less so that we can still have our Earth by the year 2050.
