Profile Information

About Me:
My name is Pedro Flores and I am a full-time student at the University of the District of Columbia. I am a Health Education: concentration in Public Health major with a minor in Nursing. You have met other Pedro’s but not like me. As a health major, it’s very important to start recycling because it increases certain health issues and our environment. Recycling is one out of many important issues that affects us humans and other living organisms. Without recycling in our society, it can have many negative consequences. It affects us in every way. Animals will live in filth or will be eating certain things thinking that it’s a bug. Humans will live in pile of trash; there will be health awareness because of the increase of trash that surround us every day. It makes our society an unhealthy place to live. Recycling is very important. Recycling provides a cleaner place to live and reduces the risk of health problems. Recycling is just one small step to improving our environment and how we can conserve more and produce less.

The Decline of Neatness Response Essay
Do Not Touch Me! I Do Not Want the Virus!

We have been contaminated with the “sloppiness virus” (Cousin 78). We have forgotten who we are and what we stand for at planet earth. The younger crowd’s behaviors have changed to having no feeling destroying their innocents. It just shows how they carry themselves. The speech that is used today’s has become violent it needs to be use to give society a voice and ameliorate the problem that is affecting our planet earth. Not least, how we look? We need to be able to look presentable and take pride in you. Society in today’s generation has lost their scenes in how they should be able to carry themselves as humans and protect this planet from being destroyed by man-kind.
Despite our inappropriate behaviors to other humans, we have “run the risk of feeling nothing” (Cousin 78). These feelings should not make the human race look greedy and not think what’s going on. We should be able to have some hope in caring what’s happening to earth, have a sense of purpose of why you was placed here, planet earth. In Dr. Cousin essay, “The Decline of Neatness”, he stated that we have “deadens feeling and annihilated privacy”, simple not caring what we do. These negative behaviors should be positive because it allows humans to be a better people and be leaders for others. Our behavior is what a difference in how we carry ourselves throughout our lives.
What happen to a descend conversation with a humans but instead they calling themselves crucial names. The use of language has been broken down into words that make no sense. In addition, Dr. Cousin noted that “violence in language has become almost as casual as the possession of handguns”, allowing others to be normal to communicate to each other in hostility and crucial manners. Humans no longer have the ability to communicate and misuse one the most important function of our daily lives. The ability to speck needs to be use for good and make a difference in society.
“No one wants blue jeans that are crisply clean or spanking new,” said Dr. Cousin, looking normal in descend clothing is no longer acceptable in today’s society. The way we dress shows what particular person you might be. Everyone has to wear torn jeans where half your jean is gone, extra accessories in females wearing enormous earrings and beyond what makeup should be. Societies today no longer realize the limits of what to wear. We live in a foundation where we have to look presentable in order to be accepted in society.
Every hours, every minute, every second, we stand not caring what happening to society. With the resentment, heartless, and unfriendly dress codes, is an example of not caring. In other words, we do not care for the most precious give gifts, how are we going to protect planet earth from being destroyed right behind our back windows. We need to change how we carry ourselves, conducting in ways that will benefits others and the planet earth. Absorbing all positive energy will allow us to make a difference in how we take care of earth and ourselves as human beings. Mandatory recycling should be implemented strictly in order to reduce pollution that is affecting our environment and our health.

Video 1
“Recycling, its impact on the Environment”

The affects of harmful products has a great impact in our environment and our food source. This video shows an educational segment showing the negative effects when humans do not recycle items such has batteries, paper, plastic, and petroleum. These products are so harmful that is affecting our food sources by infecting high level of mercury into our water sources and killing our fishes. It also tells important statistical information regarding the usage of paper and how recycling reduce the destruction of trees, forest, and other wild habitants. The most important fact discussed in the video will be the most reliable and used natural resource, petroleum. Almost everything we used today is made out of petroleum. We need to be able to help our environment and stop contaminating before it falls apart.

Video 2
Mitchel Musso – Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle

Media in today’s society has become one of the most important ways to communicate with each other. Mitchel Musso is an actor and singer from Disney Channel which has become a great leader in recycling and using music to raise the awareness of pollution to the younger crowd. Throughout his music video, this song is targeted to the ages 6 to 17, his sing of how important recycling is and how we can enforce the “the R’s”, reuse, reduce, and recycle. It shows the importance that we need to start telling our children that recycling is very important. The video motivate other children and what they can do to help. It one step closer to improving the environment. It begins when are small, and be able to take what they learn into the next future generation.

Video 3
“Why Recycle?”

It is very important to hear from our future generation kids discussing issues that affect their communities. In this video it shows how kids are very engage in participating to help do something for the environment. There’s a varieties of kids expressing themselves and providing ideas in how we can improve the place we live in. Kids will be kids but not these kids; they will be our future advocates in showing us how we should be able to take care of the planet. These kids show so much passion about the environment that they state proposal in how we should recycle.

The vast majority of the pictures indicate important facts in what to recycle and the importance of recycling. Most of the images show that things that we used in our daily life’s can be recycle, from motor oil to the smallest plastic. One particular image that alarmed my eyes is the recycling image in Spanish. This shows that not only is America being affect by the problem of pollution but it’s a worldwide problem affecting everyone. Recycling facts and the sign itself should be translated in every language so that everyone in their communities should be participating in making our home a better place to live. Children’s and the community are all taking steps that require some since of humanity to take care of earth
