I am a trainee early years teacher with an interest in raising others awareness of sustainable development and the importance of protecting out planet. I am currently helping a project that involves organising a international online experience for children under 7 on the importance of protecting our planet and sharing experiences of what can be done around the world.

Raising Cultural Awareness

Holiday Club- Making a start!

During time May half term, we began thinking of ways that we could help to look after our planet. We wrote a list of things we can start to do.

To start with we have started turning the lights off and using natural light where possible and making sure taps don’t drip.

One of our bigger projects involves us planting seeds, so we can grow our own herbs and vegetables. We then hope to use these in the meals we have at holiday club. If more people did this it would cut down on transport delivering… Continue

Protecting our Planet in Educational Settings

Importantly all ideas on how we should look after and protect our planet should be initiated from the child with the support of the adult. It is also crucial that ideas are integrated into every day education and are not simply one off events. With every activity carried out, it’s important for children to understand why they are doing something, and what effect it has on the planet. Just attended the conferance on Climate Change held in Delhi (22-23 Oct-09).
The agenda was to commercilise the green technologies accross the world.

It was nice & Environment Ministers of all the G77 countries attended the same.
