- About Me:
- I am a graduating chemistry student at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington DC. I am also a mother- to-be and I am concerned about the world my child will grow up in. My parents have raised awarness about keeping the earth a cleaner place since I was a child and I grew up in a country where recycling goes without saying. I would love to see this type of responsibility to the earth and our environment in the States. I think if everyone contributes a little bit we can achieve a lot and have a healthier and better life here on earth, for the human being and mother earth.

The Earth
They say she is mad
She is taking the sun
They don’t see, she is sad
The end has begun
They have taken her for granted
They have lost their respect
The destructive seed has been planted
Now we can see, it is very direct
Blaming her for the damage
They don’t see the truth
That they are the ones
That have pulled the tooth
Causing pain and fear
They revealed her skin
The air that once was clear
Will now be a sin
They have produced many pollutants
Causing glaciers to melt
They are acting like mutants
Now, the cards have been dealt
She is crying her wounds out
Asking for peace
But they don’t hear her shout
And keep acting like beasts

- Hello everybody,
please watch the videos about plastic and how destructive it actually is. It is horrible to see that our everyday usage of plastic bottles, bags and other things kill thousand of animals in the ocean. Plastic has been dumped in the waters for decades and it will NEVER go away. It circulates around the coast of california and around many other coasts around the world. Animals mistake it for food and then die because their stomachs are full of plastic. It is horrible to even think that everytime I go to the vending machine to get a bottle of water, it will eventually destroy other life, whether on land or in the waters. Please watch this and think about what we are doing to our own planet.
Recycling is one way to minimize this problem, but we need to take the problmen at its source. If we stop using plastic everyday and avoid it where possible, we can eliminate this huge problem, that many people don't even realize. OUT OS SIGHT DOESN'T MEAN OUT OF MIND!
