- About Me:
- I am a headmistress of NU ”P. R. Slaveikov” - Plovdiv, Bulgaria and I would like to introduce our school. It is a primary school. Here are studying pupils at age 6 – 11. We have worked in Environmental education since 1998. On the 1st of June 2000 the Vice-President of R Bulgaria Mr. Todor Kavaldjiev recognized the school as the first eco-school in Plovdiv marked off with the green flag - symbol of the International Organization "Blue Flag" – Foundation for Environmental education in Europe for outstanding achievement in improving the environmental quality of the school and community.
2002 we were awarded by a “ A Certificate of Excellence” for an outstanding contribution to Learning About Forests from Foundation for Environmental education – Fee.
At the present it`s a base-school for the University of Agriculture and Academy of Music and Dance, Plovdiv and follows programs concerning the protection of the environment in cooperation with The Bulgarian association for the prevention of cruelty to birds, "Green Balkans", the Eco-schools. One of the teachers' leading goals is to introduce the ideas and activities of the school to the society. These activities are closely connected with our eco - program which we realize in our capacity of a bearer of “Green Flag”. We include the media in our activities.
We want to exchange ideas and experience in the field of Environmental education and to collaborate with colleagues with similar interests.

I'm the Program Director of FPWC in Armenia. Our organization implements environmental education in the country. I went through your website and I'm very intersted to come into contact with your school. We are running a structure of so called SunChild Eco-clubs throughout Armenia. 600 children are enrolled in our courses which are free of charge. We also established SunChild Environmental Festival - the only festival of this type in the whole region. As your organization also works with children I'm intersted to exchange experiences and maybe even programs. We work a lot with media tools teaching children to make their own environmental short films. I'm sure we could cooperate in certain fields!
The Cedar grove-Belgium High school Art Club is pleased to announce our 7th annual Earth Day Postcard Contest and poetry art show....
The Guidelines:
-Entries should in some way relate to nature or protecting the earth
-This show is open to all artists. All work must be original and about the size of a normal postcard (4x6)
- Deadline for entry is : April 8th, 2008
-All Artwork will not be returned.

At the end of 2001 I walked through Plovdiv and loved the Amphitheatre and region. Bulgaria's very pretty the Amphitheatre and region. Bulgaria's very pretty, even in winter.
I currently am staying Hong Kong, which is where the two photo's are taken from.
