Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read my little blurb. The heat is a part of the natural decomposing process which usually occurs about a week after you start the heap. The usefulness of the heat kills weed seeds and insect larvae.
Composting is a way to reduce matter that ends up in landfills and recycling plants. In this way, it saves energy and space, while returning vital nutrients to the Earth to be used again. replacing nutrients to the Earth is important because often,…
I am a student studying English at the University level. I am an ex-member of the Whole Foods Market Green Team and I'm very passionate about the environment. I'd like to exchange and promote practical ways to reduce waste and educate the masses about Global Warming.
While Global Warming and the state of our atmosphere can be daunting and depressing, it is my hope that this page inspires you to invest in the future of our planet by making small, manageable changes in your daily routines. Check out my featured video about the origins of Earthday!
I am a proud founding member of the Earth Fellowship which was initiated in 2008 by Professor Irvin at the University of the District of Columbia!

I draw all of my artistic inspiration from nature and therefore it is my passion. In the collage above I used pictures of flowers, national parks, wood texture and rocks to compile an "incomplete self portrait." (c) 2007
I made this as a joke for the Whole Foods Market Arlington VA Green Team. One day after spending 45 minutes sorting through trash to separate the compost and recyclables we were fantasizing about blowing the quote "If you're not composting, you suck at life" up poster sized and putting it in the break room. =)
You can compost anything that comes from the earth: cardboard, paper, food scraps. In addition to paper, think anything that would smell as it gets older - unlike plastic or tin. Get it?
Composting is a way to reduce matter that ends up in landfills and recycling plants. In this way, it saves energy and space, while returning vital nutrients to the Earth to be used again. replacing nutrients to the Earth is important because often, when raising livestock or crops for the human or animal population land is destroyed and rendered useless after use.
Compost is the erosion of organic matter hat occurs naturally with little human interaction. However, compost has been adopted by hum… Continue
Have you ever wondered how long it takes trash to break down in the landfill? Recycling is very important but we should also be aware of how much we're consuming: the packaging, the fuel it takes to get to the store and how renewable the resources used to make it are.
The more I learn about Global Warming the clearer it becomes that the smallest things can make a significant difference. It's easy to forget that electricity and water are items that we actually consume because in many ways they are intangible. Although turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth will not alter your lifestyle - it would save 6 gallons of water a day. That translates to a bathtub full of water a week! According to an article by Terra Pass, a company that helps subscribers of… Continue
It's often easy to take for granted
That we are only given one planet
Her resources are wide and abundant
But we have put too many demands upon it
Our Earth cares not about technical advances
It only cares about remaining a planet
So if we don't show the earth we that truly care
It may not be long that we will stay here
It's by nature's grace that we are provided so much
So showing love back should not be so tough
Plant a tree every now & then and cutting off your water
Is all that it takes to be good sons and daughters
So don't over look her although she stays silent
Because where would we be without our dear planet?
Miss Johnson Thank you for keeping the idea of Green Earth alive. Have you shared with Care Bee the wonderful efforts that you and the class - The Earth Fellowship - are doing at The University of DC ? The Professor
