Profile Information

About Me:
I have over 25 years of environmental campaigning ,community engagement & social/political activism.
I have worked full-time for a wide range of pressure groups including Friends of the Earth,Cymru & Yorkshire & Humberside CND & Refugee/Welfare Rights Advocacy Groups.
I spent a year at the Newbury By Pass Campaign of the 1990's & was directly involved in founding Gathering Visions Gathering Strength II as well as The Stop The Cardiff Bay Barrage Campaign ~ I attended the Climate Camps 2006/2007 & 2008~I will be attending the Climate Camp 2009 ,The Big Green Gathering this summer as well as staffing stalls at Glastonbury [CND] & Off The Tracks[Shelter] ,Manchester May Day & The Bradford Mela this summer.
Currently I am working full-time for a leading Housing Charity in the UK.But in July 2009 I am about to begin full-time work for a Social Justice organisation in Bradford. where I studied at The International School of Peace Studies 1994~1997.
I have decided to dedicate the next ten years of my life to Environmental Activism, believing that the threat posed by Climate Change is a looming threat to sustaining life on Planet Earth. itself.
It is my considered belief that only NVDA action will prevent this from happenning & that the democratic process is now in effect moribund and corrupt.
I am a member of Greenpeace,FOE,CND,Ammnesty International & Liberty.as well as a number of International Peace & Social justice Organisations such as ENSEA ,Greenpeace International & Oxfam International.

The venue is Hebden Hey hostel, Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX7 7AW.

This is on the Caldervale Line, less than an hour by train from both Leeds and Manchester. Organisers will provide a drop off area for people's luggage, and will also provide a lift service if required. [Group are still working on confirming a driver for this, but they have an eight-seater vehicle, belonging to Treesponsibility.)

FOOD AND SOCIAL
The cooking team is in place. They will also run a bar, and there is also the famed Blue Pig Working Mens' Club within walking distance.Group working on the entertainments for the Saturday night.

On the Sunday night there will be a benefit evening in the Hebden Bridge Trades Club (fundraising for Hebden Bridge Transition Town/the Camp for Climate Action), with an excellent DJ already confirmed.

Continue along Broughton Street, right at the end then immediately left and onwards over an old pack horse bridge. Follow the cobbled path up the hillside until a few steps lead to another path on your right. Follow this through, and at the end continue forward diagonally upwards along a woodland path. Turn right at the top. You are now on the track leading to Hebden Hey, about 30 minutes walk further on. Enjoy.

14 from the Western Hemisphere, both North & South

8 Africans
