Hi,
I have just started a blog: Ecological Tales for Environment Education-India. The blog is packed with ecological tales, lesson plans, activities, information… I have tried to make it as teacher-friendly as possible.

I believe storytelling is a powerful way to instill love and concern for the environment in children Stories can help introduce kids to new concepts, add depth to a lesson, and enliven any topic. Storytelling also gives an opportunity for emotional transformation as every story is designed to provide a moral message, which children take to heart.

If you happen to visit my blog, you will notice that it focuses on India. I have done it purposefully because I believe that environment education has to help children reconnect with their land-based cultures. Environmental education goes beyond global warming and waste management. For me it is a rediscovery of the wisdom of indigenous people and their ecological traditions.

Taking my students to Tampa Bay Watch in Tierra verde in which they will continue to learn about the importance of water conservation and keeping our waters clean. They will be using data collected last year by my 8th graders and comparing new data. Sane netting, lab work and just environmental fun. Happy Earth Day! SUZANNE

Hi everyone, i agree with your ways, but i think is not enough, i don't mean all this is bad, is just too slow, and not enough. I hear an amazing idea, about the walkman tree, and I'd like , and i hope, see more than just one walkman tree, with this...can change houndred of children thought in all differents corner of the world. Well if someone here think like me...or can do something about, just do it!, more than one will be great.
