I started an initiative some time ago called Help From Home that features little volunteer actions that can all be performed from the comfort of your own home... whilst still dressed in your pyjamas. These actions will take no more than 30 minutes to accomplish and nearly all of them are free to participate in.

There are 3 main categories to choose from, one of them being 'Green Volunteer Actions'. Currently it lists over 180 'green' ways in which you could use some of those spare minutes you have at home to do something purposeful for a worthy cause.

Why don't you take a look and see what you can do for the world - dressed just in your pyjamas!

I agree with this term....I think using less plastic is a great way to conserve the environment and according to me shopping bags are one of the main sources of everyday plastic.I would like to use less plastic and try to reduce pollution. So I decided to start reducing the number of plastic bags for that I am using canvas bags.

We reduced our plastic use, recycling and saved money. How? We now only buy frozen fruit juices (less expensive). It doesn't completely eliminate plastic but the containers are SO much smaller and it only takes a couple of minutes to make... well worth the effort.

It's hard to imagine a world without greenery. It can happen if we continuously cut down the trees and it is causing deforestation. It brings many horrifying consequences - air and water pollution, soil erosion, the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the eviction and decimation of indigenous Indian tribes, and the extinction of many plants, animals and creatures. And all these things are very harmful for our lives. Day by day environment is changing now we have fewer rainforests mean less rain, less oxygen for us to breathe, and an increased threat of global warming. So everybody should be taken some steps to protect our environment and plant more trees.

We put a clean 5 gallon bucket in the shower. It collects the cold water while we are waiting for the water to heat up to showering temperature.

Part 2 Shower water - Uses for the gathered shower water. When the bucket is full or near full:

1. Keep a recycled plastic coffee container, you know the kind that your coffee comes in from the store. We take an empty clean one (washed). Scoop the shower water out of the 5 gallon bucket and then we use that to flush the toilet, just dump it into the bowl, it's a FREE FLUSH. Where we live we get charged for water usage and a sewage charge everytime you use the handle to flush the toilet. So this Free Flush not only saves water but saves us money.

2. Use it to water our flowers and veggies growing in our garden or planters.
