The world does not end in this film, which is clear to me is only the end of cycle, and a start, definitely an event to mark the beginning of the era of aquarium.

Although many an inquiring mind may have arrived at this same conclusion regarding the Mayan calendar, which ends in calamity for mankind, I feel it is much to do about nothing. Perhaps a just as valid conclusion must be considered, that they just stopped making the calendar because of their our civilization's demise. I happen to be a adherent of the latter opinion, eternal optimist. I have heard of no other documentation that predicts the same end date. Thus it would be wiser to enjoy the life you have and enjoy it to it's fullest each day, without giving any credence to this doomsday negativity. To me it is the end of one civilization. From the begining of our ancient civilizations there have been lots of changes. One civilization goes and other comes to replace it, causes may be different. It may be floods or global heat or fire from the sky. In our hindu mythology we have seen three civilizations in three yug being destroyed and we are leaving in fourth (Kalyug).
