Interesting. I have to say, though, that I'm more comfortable with the plastics created from corn that will eventually biodegrade regardless of what we put it in. Perhaps this method could be used to deteriorate the plastics we have today, and as those degrade, we can replace them with only the corn plastic. I'm astounded, in fact, that there isn't some sort of law about only using corn plastic now.
